На здобуття обласної премії
імені Михайла Коцюбинського
Цього року на здобуття обласної премії імені Михайло Коцюбинського у царині народознавства номінована книжка завідувачки науково-освітнього відділу Чернігівського обласного історичного музею ім. VV. Tarnovsky Natalia Evgeniivna Samokhina "Museum lecture "On the roads of the native land". Travels to historical places of Chernihiv Oblast and Ukraine" (popular scientific edition, Chernihiv, 2025).
It is about a scientific and educational project, which was developed by 2007 of the year is consistently embodied by Ms. Nataliya. About the history of the lecture in this form - a trip to specific settlements, thematic lecture on the bus, visiting museums, nature reserves or parks, acquaintance with the monuments of material and immaterial culture; про те, that the trip may also include performances by local professional or amateur bands, meetings with folk craftsmen, familiarization with local cuisine, etc. Routes and their topics are also described, which introduce travelers to the history and traditions of the region, with its humanity and people, who served Ukraine, to, even the world. The lecture hall absorbs all the diversity of ethnology, all directions and forms of museum work.
Usually, for the literary and artistic prize named after M. Коцюбинського з народознавства подаються книжки як результат науково-дослідної праці. Так прописано в положенні про премію, it was the same with the employees of the Chernihiv Regional Historical Museum named after. VV. Tarnovsky Vira Zaichenko and Svitlana Polovnikova, who became laureates for processing museum collections: the first - for the catalog "Embroidery of the Cossack Elders of the XVII-XVIII centuries" 2006, second - for the autograph album "Kachanivka" 2011 year.

The uniqueness of the work submitted to the competition by Mrs. N. Samokhinoy in that, that it demonstrates the result of many years of educational work of the author, embodiment of the knowledge acquired by her, skills and experience, synergy of science and practice. This small book is recorded on a physical medium, which can be stored and used as a written source, extraordinary event - the creation of 2007 year and many years of activity at the Chernihiv regional historical museum named after. VV. Tarnovsky "museum lecture hall on wheels" "On the roads of the native land". Evaluating Ms. Natalia's work, we remember, that we do not have too many such long-term popular science projects, which is sustained by the zeal of one man. Working with live real people is difficult. Educational activity requires love for the native land as a part of the united and indivisible Ukraine, professional knowledge of a historian with a penchant for local history, teacher and psychologist; the skill of a manager - the organizer of mass events and the formation and management of a temporary team of strangers, methods of keeping listeners' attention in the limited space of the bus, that moves, stress resistance, if you want - charisma. Nataliya Evgeniivna possesses all these virtues, and her inclination to constant learning and self-improvement made the project long-lived. About success, the popularity of the lecture "Roads of the native land" also proves that, that it did not cease to exist even during the 2020-2021 pandemic, nor with the beginning of a full-scale war of Russia against Ukraine. He still works today.
The example of the creation and long-term operation of the "Roads of the native land" lecture hall testifies to the importance of popularization, educational aspect of ethnology, the demand of ordinary and extraordinary Ukrainians to learn about their own history and culture. Casual and easy to communicate with, without strain or coercion (behind which, in fact, is the colossal hard work of N. Samokhina), trips to the museum lecture hall, made with the good will of its participants, in reality turn out to be a good tool for educating patriotism and national self-awareness, enrichment of national memory. And this, by the way, well understood by the participants of the lecture, as evidenced by their posts on the community Facebook page.
By the way, about the importance of enlightenment for society. Let's not forget, that the outstanding Ukrainian writer Mykhailo Kotsyubynskyi headed the Chernihiv organization "Enlightenment", was a member of the Chernihiv Provincial Scientific Archive Commission and as its representative participated in the opening of the monument to Ivan Kotlyarevsky, а Чернігівський історичний музей як раз і постав як результат діяльності ЧАК.
