Presentation of the film “Tarnovsky”

A unique phenomenon in Ukrainian history was the philanthropic and public activity of the Tarnovsky family. Everyone knows Tarnovsky's estate in Kachanivka, що на Чернігівщині. About the life of the life of a dynasty of collectors and philanthropists of Tarnowski and about the history of pearls of Ukrainian culture – Kachanivka is said in a documentary “Tarnovsky”.

This movie is from the series “The game of fate” was shot in the anniversary for the museum year. But the premiere was prevented by the pandemic. 13 December 2023 року до дня пам’яті Василя Тарновського (старшого), celebrated 16 December, the long-planned presentation of the film took place in the museum. This action became possible thanks to the project “Culture and identity”, which is implemented by the NGO “Modern Ukrainian Cinema “QMS”, thanks to the financial support of the governments of Great Britain, Швеції, Switzerland, Фінляндії, USA and Canada.

The purpose of the project – to contribute to the spiritual revival of citizens in the restoration of their lands, that suffered abuse from the occupier, as well as help the residents of Ukraine to resist misinformation and master the elements of psychological assistance for the social recovery of the community in order to build an optimistic future in the conditions of post-war life. For this, a training session with psychologist Tetyana Marnina became an integral part of the event. And finally – the result of art therapy was a discussion of the film “Tarnovsky” with his author group as part of the host of the series “The game of fate” Natalka Sopit, directed by Vasyl Vitr and produced by Halyna Kryvorchuk. It was the sixth, final, action in the Chernihiv region of the project called “The experience of Ukrainian identity in the historical aspect on the territory of Chernihiv Region and Kyiv Region. The influence of the heroes of the past on the choice of contemporaries during the hybrid war”.
