On the Day of Dignity and Freedom 21 November 2024 year in the Chernihiv regional historical museum named after V.V. Tarnovsky, the exhibition "Chernigovians in the struggle for Ukraine" was opened. Stages of state creation in the 20th-21st centuries". The idea of the exhibition is to highlight the continuity of the struggle of the Ukrainian people for their statehood and the defense of Ukrainian sovereignty starting from the third period of Ukrainian statehood – the Ukrainian national liberation struggle of 1917–1921 and up to the events of the Russian-Ukrainian war, that started 20 February 2014 year, continued with a full-scale invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine 24 February 2022 year.

На виставці представлені 34 thematic blocks with texts-annotations, with quotes from notable figures of the Ukrainian national movement, copies of archival documents and material exhibits, like that: uniforms and weapons of the times of the Ukrainian revolution and the Second World War; personal belongings of the Hero of Ukraine, Soviet dissident, Levka Lukyanenko; materials of defenders of Ukraine, Chernihiv region, Chernihiv during the Russian-Ukrainian war, ongoing - Vadim Zherebylo, Andriy Kudabekov, George Lysenko, Yury Vetkina.

At the opening of the exhibition and on the occasion of the Day of Dignity and Freedom, members of the regional organization of the People's Movement of Ukraine - Nadiya Galkovska visited the museum, Sergey Chernyakov, Yuriy Sobol, Serhiy Solomakh, Serhii Butko, representative of the Institute of National Memory of Ukraine, representative of the Museum of the Hero of Ukraine Levko Lukyanenko, Ivan Usov, Valery Demchenko, a member of the Chernihiv Community Society, Hryhoriy Tkachenko, head of the Naporivske farm.
