Museum's birthday

24-25 November 2024 year in the Chernihiv regional historical museum named after. VV. Tarnovsky, events were held on the occasion of the museum's birthday.

The Historical Museum in Chernihiv was founded in 26 November 1896 year. In the conditions of the Russian-Ukrainian war, it is practically impossible to hold festive events, but, still, друзі, partners and colleagues took the time to congratulate the Museum with gifts.

So, 24 November author's tour of the exhibition "The World of Chernihiv Polissia. Ethnographic collection of Yury Dakhna" was conducted by a well-known Chernihiv ethnographer, Yuriy Dakhno, local historian and collector of antiques.

25 In November, guests from Odesa and Kyiv visited the Museum. Olga Shamenkova, fashion designer and reconstructor, came from Odesa. Ms. Olya presented a reconstruction of a women's kuntus of the 18th century., the original of which is kept in the Museum, and told about the peculiarities of clothing of that time, a long process of creating a replica. The artist's works are exhibited in Kyiv museums, Odessa, Vinnytsia, Kamianets-Podilskyi, Poltava, York (Великобританія). She reconstructs historical costumes in the following directions: Roman Empire, Hetmanship era, Northern War, Napoleonic Wars, events of the First World War. Anna Horozhenko is a writer, journalist, the author of cultural and historical projects. Inna Baranovska - director of the film "Resident", who popularizes Ukrainian culture of the 18th century. (based on Anna Horozhenko's book "Her Majesty's Resident"), teacher of the Kyiv National Theater University, cinema and television named after. I. Karpenko-Karyo.

Those present could hear, that in the meeting of the famous Ukrainian philanthropist Vasyl Tarnovsky there was 3 thousands of antiques, a significant part of which covered the period of the Hetmanate. Among these things was kept 20 clothing samples of the 17th-18th centuries.

There were also guests of the event: employees of the Chernihiv Regional Library for Children, Chernihiv Regional Library for Youth, Desnian social center, Center of folk crafts for children and youth.
