Україна. Path to Unification

22 January 2019 in Chernihiv Historical Museum named after VV. Tarnowska 100 anniversary of the Day of Ukraine was opened traveling exhibition "Ukraine. Path to Unification ".

The First World War in Europe led to social and national revolutions and the fall of empires, intensified the national liberation movement of the Ukrainian people, struggle for obtaining their state.

Ukrainian national revolution started in March 1917 year. It was formed by the legislative authority - the Ukrainian Central Rada. 7 November 1917 year in the southwestern provinces of the former Russian Empire, populated mostly Ukrainian, faced the Ukrainian People's Republic (UPR) - Ukrainian state with its capital in Kiev.

The defeat of Austria-Hungary in World War contributed to the national liberation movement in Western Ukraine. 18 October 1918 in Lviv Ukrainian politicians in Eastern Galicia and Bukovina Ukrainian National Council established, яка озвучила прагнення всіх західноукраїнських земель об’єднатися в єдину державу. 13 November 1918 The Ukrainian National Council proclaimed the creation of the West Ukrainian People's Republic (ZUNR), populated uniting Ukrainian Galicia, Bukovina and Transcarpathia.

Act of Union and the UPR ZUNR in one state - Unification Act was proclaimed Ukrainian lands 22 January 1919 Dr.. in Sofia Square in Kiev.
