Memory Savers project in Chernihiv

Із 3 July 2023 year in the Chernihiv Regional Historical Museum named after V.V. Tarnovsky launched the "Memory Savers" project, which is supported by the Center for Digital History, DROUGHT (Saving Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Online) and funds of the EVZ Foundation ("Memory, responsibility, future", Німеччина).

The project provides support to museums, their employees, as well as young people (students), interested in a museum career: 20 students work in 20 central and regional museums of Ukraine. Estimated for three months, with the possibility of extension up to six months. Students will get their first experience working in museums, will get acquainted with the methods of work in them, in order to further develop oneself in the museum business and, можливо, in the future to become employees of Ukrainian museums or other historical and cultural institutions.

Students can implement micro-projects on topics, related to the rethinking of the Second World War, or social projects under the leadership of host institutions.

The goal of the project is to digitize museum collections, their processing and storage of information, hence, short-term and long-term archiving, digital preservation of various museum objects, photos and preparation of online publications of collections.
