The first director of the Museum of Ukrainian Antiquities Vasyl Tarnovsky

7 May 1902 year the first official custodian (director) Andriy Pavlovych Shelukhin was appointed to the Museum of Ukrainian Antiquities of VV Tarnovsky (1871–1931). He held this position until 20 October 1911 year. Conducted tours for visitors, received researchers, engaged in ordering, replenishment and preservation of the museum's stock materials.

Andriy Pavlovych took part in the work of the XII Archaeological Congress in Kharkiv (1902 р.), active in the preparation and holding of the XIV Archaeological Congress in Chernihiv (1908 р., secretary of the presidium of the preparatory committee and member of the exhibition commission). As a well-known connoisseur of ancient manuscripts, he assisted the historian Vadim Modzalevsky in working on the publication of the "Little Russian Pedigree". Member of Chernihiv, Poltava and Saratov scientific archival commissions. As a representative of the Chernihiv Archival Commission he took part in the unveiling of the monument to Ivan Kotlyarevsky in Poltava (1903 р.).
