On indefinite service

17 September 2021 year in the Military History Museum - a branch of the Chernihiv Regional Historical Museum named after VV. Tarnovsky to the 78th anniversary of the expulsion of the Nazis from Chernihiv and the Day of the city opened the exhibition "On indefinite service". The exhibition is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Tymofiy Maksymovych Kornyushenko, retired colonel, Chairman of the Chernihiv Regional Council of Military-Patriotic Associations, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine.

Tymofiy Maksymovych Kornyushenko was born 16 September 1921 year in the village. Ignorance of the Mogilev region of Belarus. His childhood and youth were spent in the mining Donbass, where in 1927 year the family moved. There he graduated from high school, then studied at the College of Mining, worked as a teacher at school, and in October 1940 was drafted into the ranks of the RSCA. He began his service in the Far East, where he was caught in the German-Soviet war.

As a member of the 34th Rifle Division of the 15th Army of the 2nd Far Eastern Front, he took part in the Soviet-Japanese war. 1945 year.

Tymofiy Kornyushenko's further service took place in various garrisons. The last place of service is Chernihiv, where he was chief of the garrison House of Officers.

After the release of the stock in 1969 year engaged in military and patriotic work among young people and headed the Chernihiv regional headquarters of the All-Union Youth March on the roads of glory of parents, was a member of the Ukrainian and Central Staffs.

With the independence of Ukraine, Tymofiy Maksymovych is actively involved in the development of the young state. He was one of the first among the veterans to take the military oath of allegiance to the people of Ukraine. Do 1992 headed the Chernihiv Regional Council of Military-Patriotic Associations and Clubs. Dozens of events on national and patriotic education were held in the region on his initiative and directly under his leadership.. Among them - "Sons of Ukraine", “Glory to you, Ukraine ", dedicated to Independence Day. In close cooperation with the servicemen of the Northern Operational Command, every year an action “Pre-conscription youth - army training” was held in the region, etc.. And Tymofiy Maksymovych was the author of many publications, published in the periodical press.

He was awarded the Order of the Red Star for military prowess and many years of military and patriotic activity., two orders of the Patriotic War of the II degree, with the award of the President of Ukraine - the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III degree and the Order "For Merits" III degree, medals.

Tymofiy Maksymovych died 25 February 2004 year at the age of 83. У лютому 2006 year, the executive committee of the city council. Chernihiv decided to perpetuate the memory of Tymofiy Kornyushenko, to perform which 5 May at home, where the veteran lived, the official opening of the memorial plaque took place.
