Day of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred

19 February 2021 in Chernihiv Historical Museum named after VV. Тарновського у рамках Музейних зустрічей відбувся захід, dedicated to the seventh anniversary of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred Day. Participants of the Revolution of Dignity met with those present – Mykola Krivulko, retired colonel, Kyiv Euromaidan activist and Oleksandr Bondar, Ph.D., who took an active part in the revolutionary events in Chernihiv.

Protest and social movements, which took place in Ukraine in 2013-2014 in connection with the refusal of the then President of Ukraine V.. Yanukovych to sign an association agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, called the Revolution of Dignity.

In January-February 2014 More than 100 people were killed in clashes between protesters and security forces in central Kyiv, most of which 20 February, сотні були поранені. Більшість людей загинули від куль снайперів. Subsequently, the dead protesters began to be called "Heavenly Hundred". In honor of courage, strength of spirit and resilience of citizens, who gave their lives during the Revolution of Dignity, 11 February 2015 by the Decree of the President of Ukraine 20 February is set, as a memorable Day of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred.

The participants of the event honored the victims with a minute of silence, with great interest listened to interesting stories of guests, got acquainted with the museum exposition, watched the movie "Fire of the Maidan. The story of the three Heroes " (production of the Cheline company) about the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred - natives of Chernihiv region Vasyl Prokhorsky, Andriy Movchan, Victor Orlenko.

The cadets of the Academy of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine attended the museum meeting.
