Exhibition of a French artist

18 July 2023 in Chernihiv Historical Museum named after VV. Тарновського відкрилась виставка картин «Vols of peace» by the French artist Pedro Pierre Bergé (Pedro Pierre Berge).

The author of the paintings lives in a small town, in the south-west of France. He teaches history in high school classes. At one time, he graduated from the Sorbonne, art academy.

It was no accident that Pedro Pierre came to Chernihiv. Since the end of February 2022 year he often heard about tragic events in the news, districtassociated with the ancient city in the north of Ukraine. Subsequently, he met a Ukrainian refugee namedI am Svetlana, who was originally from Chernihiv. The artist was very impressed by what he saw and heard. He decided to paint pictures and sell them, and use the proceeds to help Ukrainian families. Pedro visited Chernihiv with his wife Valery.

Artistic works are conditionally divided by the author into three groups: war and human tragedies, assistance to Ukrainian refugees by the countries of Western Europe, hope for a better life and peace.

During the presentation of the exhibition, Pedro Pierre told the audience about himself, his family, людей, with whom fate brought him together in Chernihiv. He was especially impressed by the suburb of the regional center - Novoselivka and the fate of its residents. The artist also performed two old Basque songs. Spiritual and emotional communication took place thanks to the translator Victoria Razumeyko-Piddubnia.

After the opening of the exhibition, the artist's family visited the museum shelter, where in February-March 2022 In 2008, museum staff and some city residents hid from bombings and shelling by the Russian army.

Presented at the exhibition 36 paintings. It will be valid for two weeks.
