In preparation for the 125th anniversary of the Chernihiv Historical Museum named after VV. Tarnovsky 3 September 2021 A museum meeting was held on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of the first director of the Museum of Ukrainian Antiquities.. Tarnowski - Andrei Pavlovich Shelukhin (1871–1931). Almost ten years, with 1902 by 1911 рік, in this position, he carried out active collecting work, was engaged in popularization of museum expositions and exhibitions, was a participant in Archaeological Congresses. The exhibits tell about Andriy Pavlovich's activities as a museum curator, which complement the exhibition in honor of the museum's founder - Vasyl Tarnovsky.

With special interest and excitement, the audience received the story about the fate of the Shelukha family, grandson of Andrii Pavlovich, 82-year old Andrey Dmitrovich. He came from Kyiv, where his cousin Halyna Pavlivna also lives. They received unique photo portraits of Andrei Pavlovich Shelukhin, family photos. Another highlight of our museum collection will be the book-almanac “Oak Leaves” presented by Andriy Dmytrovych 1903 year, publication to perpetuate the memory of the famous Ukrainian writer Panteleimon Kulish with a gift inscription by Mykhailo Mykhailovych Kotsyubynsky, member of the editorial committee to his friend, about the approval of which as director of the museum he was particularly concerned.
New acquisitions will soon be presented to museum visitors.
