At the end of June 2023 року у Чернігівському історичному музеї ім. VV. Tarnovsky together with the Institute of Archeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine with the support of the German Archaeological Institute (DAI) started the second project to create 3D models of museum exhibits. Its goal is the digitization of guns of the XVII-XVIII centuries. із зібрання музею. As early as June, the project of creating 3D models of encolpion crosses of the Kyivan Rus era began.
The project is designed to provide an opportunity for historians, scientists from different countries of the world and all those, who is interested in the historical heritage of Ukraine to use digital models of museum objects.
Collection of cannons of the Chernihiv Historical Museum named after V.V. Tarnovsky began to form in the second half of the 19th century., and ended in the 70s. ХХ ст. The main part of the museum's collection comes from the collection of the famous Ukrainian philanthropist Vasyl Tarnovsky (1838–1899). According to catalogs 1898 and 1900 рр. у нього було 32 guns of the XVI–XVIII centuries. and 4 fortress guns. 13 guns were also in the museum collection of the Chernihiv Scientific Archival Commission. Before World War II, it could have been in the collection of the Chernihiv State Museum 51 cannon of the 16th - early 19th centuries.
