Historical features of the Chernihiv border

The first round of the fifteenth season of the museum lecture "Roads of the native land" was devoted to this topic.. The route ran through the territory of the Ripkin region through the settlements of Novi Yarylovichi, Dobryanka and Oleshnia.

Events have taken place in this area for centuries, which found a response in the history of Chernihiv region from the time of the Princely period to the present.

1024 Prince Mstislav Vladimirovich near the chronicle town of Maly Listven, winning over his older brother Yaroslav Volodymyrovych ("Wise"), finally secured the Chernihiv principality.

During the Ukrainian National Revolution of 1648–1654, on the border with the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the Chernihiv Cossack Regiment, led by Colonel Martyn Nebaba, courageously defended the northern borders. He died in June 1651 year in the bloody battle of Turnips. The name of the hero is immortalized in the name of the street of the regional center.

1706 year on the border of Malaya, Greater and White Russia, the Old Believer settlement of Dobryanka was founded on the lands of the Chernihiv Trinity-Illyinsky Monastery. Refugees from Poland and various cities of the Russian Empire were allowed to settle in the border area.. Among others, Omelyan Pugachev, the future leader of the peasant war, was there, which 12 August 1772 received a passport as a refugee.

From the end of the XVIII century. to the 60's. XIX century. the St. Petersburg–Odesa postal route passed through this outpost, thanks to which the life of the villagers was significantly revived. Dobryanka became the first post office in the north of Ukraine through which many prominent people passed. Among them are prominent Ukrainian poets and writers T.. Shevchenko, M. Garrot, Є. Comb, Russian poet O. Pushkin, famous historian M. Kostomarov. At the beginning of the 20th century, Volodymyr Samiylenko worked as a notary and was engaged in literary work, visited by Pavlo Tychyna.

During the excursion, special attention was paid to the church of Dmitriy of Thessalonica and the wooden building, characteristic of the Old Believer settlement. Stands with photos about the life of the inhabitants of Dobryanka in the 19th and early 20th centuries became a wonderful addition.. During the tour, the participants of the lecture got acquainted with the works of modern masters, which follow ancient traditions. The youth center delighted the guests with a wonderful concert by talented amateurs.

The highlight of the tour was a visit to the village of Oleshnya. A well-known public figure was born and spent her childhood in the estate of the Lindfors family, Professor of Pedagogy Sofia Rusova. The exposition of the memorial complex tells about her life path. This village is also famous for the most famous potter of Ukraine, master of folk art, honorary citizen of Chernihiv region Ivan Bibik, visited by the participants of the trip and bought his products in memory.

Picturesque nature of the Ripkin region, its forests and lakes were extremely popular with tourists. Acquaintance with the collection of coniferous plants and the peculiarities of their cultivation in the Novo-Yarilovytsia Forestry of the Dobryan Forestry was a suitable addition..

This multidisciplinary excursion received favorable reviews from the participants of the lecture hall, which they shared on social networks, which greatly contributed to the popularization of this area.
