25 April 2023 year to the 37th anniversary of the accident at the Chornobyl NPP in the Chernihiv Historical Museum. VV. Tarnovsky, the museum meeting "Chernobyl: tragedy, feat, memory". The museum space became a place of communication for representatives of the public organization "Soyuz "Chernobyl", which unites liquidators of the consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and displaced persons from the exclusion zone. Representatives of the authorities were also present at the event, social protection services, Mass media and museum workers.

Participants recalled tragic events, related to the explosion of the 4th power unit of the nuclear plant. They talked about the participation of the military, firefighters, police units in liquidation of the consequences of the accident. Each of the liquidators present contributed a share of their health, life, to tame the atomic element. They talked about their participation in those events: Anatoly Lihun, Volodymyr Babenko, Anatoly Lazar and Volodymyr Oleksienko. Moreover, In his speech, the head of the NGO "Soyuz "Chernobyl" Anatoly Lihun touched upon the painful issues of the reduction of benefits for "Chernobyl" residents and the insufficient level of their social security.
About the museum collection, that highlights the events related to the liquidation of the consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, said Svitlana Zemlyanska, a senior researcher of the museum. The collection began to form during the construction of the protective sarcophagus, in summer-autumn 1986 year. Then, during the following years, the stock collection was replenished with new materials. In the museum, veterans of the liquidation of the consequences of the accident met with young people, schoolchildren. On prevelikij Zal, many participants of those meetings are no longer among the living, however, their memory is preserved in the museum.
Time moves us away from the very moment of the explosion, priority works to eliminate the accident, проте, its consequences still require and will require close attention and painstaking work of more than one generation.
