7 April 2026 year in the Chernihiv regional historical museum named after. VV. Tarnovsky, a public lecture "About Holy Week through the prism of the museum collection" was held.
At the event, senior researcher Myroslav Mai-Boroda talked about a special period in the church calendar, when Christians remember the last days of the earthly life of Jesus Christ and introduced the audience to the museum collection, which illustrates the events commemorated in Holy Week.
Visitors were able to learn about such museum exhibits, as:
– "Chrysanthemum" 1631 year of publication (printing house of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra), in which the liturgical texts of each Holy Day are decorated with exquisitely detailed thematic engravings;
– the chalice was presented by Vasyl Dunin-Borkovskyi, General of the Zaporozhian Army, to the Church of the Annunciation in. Chernihiv, which was ordered by him from the Gdansk master Christian Schubert II. The cup depicts scenes from the Last Supper, foot washing, prayers in the Garden of Gethsemane, beating of Christ by Roman soldiers, carrying the cross to Calvary and crucifixion;

– the Holy Gospel 1697 year of publication (printing house of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra), a frame made by Ukrainian goldsmiths, which is decorated with scenes of passionate themes;
– quilted shrouds and covers with vozdas of the XVII-XVIII centuries. with the image of Christ in a crown of thorns, the crucifixion and mourning of Christ;
– encolpion crosses and carved crosses.
Among others, the event was attended by students of the Educational and Scientific Institute of History and Socio-Humanities named after O.M.. Lazarevsky National University “Чернігівський колегіум” University. T. Shevchenko and museum workers.
