14 July 2023 in Chernihiv Historical Museum named after VV. Tarnovsky within the framework of the project «Ethnicity» відthere was a museum meeting «Folk toy».
The interior of the "Ukrainian House" was updated especially for the event, which received a "summer" color and motifs. The authors of the meeting - senior researchers of the museum, Olena Trukhan and Yevhen Naselevets, told about the history of wooden toys, clay and fabrics in the territory of Severshchyna.
Well-known folk craftswoman Olga Kostyuchenko, Maryana Vatsenko, Iryna Kryshtal and master Andriy Kamenetskyi presented their original works, which imitate and revive the traditional toy of the Seversky region.
At the end of the event, the "Children of Magura" choral ensemble gave the audience a magical concert, which consisted of original arrangements of folk songs.
The expanded exhibition "Ethnicity. From the depths of the ages" will be workingyou to October 2023 year.
