Music master Alexander Shlonchik

29 April Chernihiv Historical Museum named after VV. Tarnowski opened the exhibition "The soul of the Master sounds in the bandura roaring. It is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Chernihiv resident Oleksandr Mykytovych Shlonchyk (1921–2008) - widely known as in Ukraine, and beyond, master of musical instruments, musician, master of folk art of the USSR, People's Master of Arts of the Moldavian SSR, specialist, awarded numerous honors, including the gold medal of the ENEA in Moscow.

The future master made his first musical instrument - the mandolin, studying in the sixth grade. On 1948 He worked at the Chernihiv Musical Instrument Factory for more than three decades. In his legacy - more than eight hundred made (developed) strings, wind, percussion, noise musical instruments.

Alexander Nikitovich gave new life to such ancient instruments, as an ancient n horn, Ukrainian - kobza, basol, forge, restored the forgotten musical instruments of the Komi people - chipsan, badpu, sumod, etc.. It is to Oleksandr Shlonchyk that we owe the restoration of the bag - a string plucked instrument, that once belonged to Taras Shevchenko, and is now stored in the Romensky Museum of Local Lore.

Oleksandr Mykytovych's instruments still serve the musicians of the Hryhoriy Veryovka State Academic Honored Choir, Cherkasy folk choir, students of the Peter Tchaikovsky Kyiv State Conservatory study there, Chernihiv Music School named after LM. Revutskogo, they sound in Belarus, Moldova, Lithuania, Of the Russian Federation, in many parts of Ukraine and, particular, Chernihiv region. And in their sound the soul of the Master lives and will live.

The exhibition represents musical instruments (dulcimer, бандура, harp, pipes, etc.) з музейної колекції, made by Oleksandr Mykytovych Shlonchyk during the 1950s and 1980s. Documents and photographs are also on display, made in the museum at different times, on which you can see the granddaughter of the famous singer Natalia Zhizhchenko (ONUKA).
