19 March 2021 Chernihiv journalist during the events honoring Hetman Ivan Mazepa, історик, Maze expert Serhiy Pavlenko presented the Chernihiv Historical Museum named after VV. Tarnowski "with gratitude for the help and cooperation" his new edition "Mazepa's Atlantis. Creative heritage of 1687–1709 » Kiev: Art, 2021». The book presents previously published and found in the archives, museums, libraries of Warsaw, St. Petersburg, Kyiv, City, Kharkiv, Chernihiv samples of printed poems, eulogies, stories, dram, studies of writers and church figures of the Hetmanate.
Most of the works in the book are translated from Latin, Polish, Church Slavonic, Old Ukrainian literary languages to modern Ukrainian. A number of works are presented in the original with some modernization of letters. Creative heritage of the era of Hetman I. Mazepa includes a large layer of works by engravers and artists. For the first time, the publication provides an opportunity to get acquainted with the most complete collection of photographs of these impressive works.
"Mazepa's Atlantis" includes a little biographical information about the authors, as well as comments on the hetman's poems and published songs.
We are especially pleased, that the compiler used a lot of illustrative material from the collection of the Chernihiv Historical Museum named after VV. Tarnovsky.
