8 October 2024 of the Chernihiv regional historical museum named after. VV. Museum meeting "Lyubech according to the materials of archaeological research" took place in Tarnovsky (to the 1000th anniversary of the Principality of Chernihiv).
Ljubech is mentioned for the first time in "The Tale of Past Years" under 882 year. In the treaty of Prince Oleg with the Greeks 907 Lyubech is listed among other cities of Kyivan Rus. Battle between princes Mstislav and Yaroslav 1024 year near Listven, not far from Lubech, initiated the formation of the Chernihiv Principality independent from Kyiv.
It is known, in 1097 the famous Lubetsk congress of princes took place in, which finally established the feudal principle "let everyone keep his fatherland". 1147 year - Ljubech was destroyed by Prince Rostislav of Smolensk. And at the end of the 12th century., in 1180 year - the Second Lubetsk Congress of Princes. The Mongol horde devastated the city in the 13th century. Do 1471 Ljubech became the center of the parish of Kyiv Voivodeship.
A Chernihiv archaeologist told the audience about the history of archaeological research in the territory of Ljubech and his own excavations in the ancient city, Associate Professor of Chernihiv Collegium National University named after. TG. Shevchenko, candidate of historical sciences Olena Veremeychyk. Ms. Olena, who was in charge, told about many years of research, conducted by the expedition of the Chernihiv Collegium National University named after T.G. Shevchenko from 2009 by 2020 years in Lyubech on the Zamkova Gora hillfort, in his position, on the Monastyryshche settlement and near the Polubotka Kamianitsa. The result of these works is a large collection of archaeological finds, in which different eras are represented, from the Bronze Age to the 19th century.
Especially for this event, the senior researcher of the museum Lyudmila Sita prepared a small exhibition of objects, which were discovered during archaeological excavations by an expedition led by Olena Veremeychyk and are kept in the Museum. These are findings of XI – beginning of the 13th century. Were presented: waist ring, iron and bone arrowheads, chess piece, children's toys - rattles. Several tablets have decorations on them, made of non-ferrous metal and silver - round pendant, annular temporal ring, перстень, glass bracelet. Among the findings are silver and amber encolpions and body crosses, book fasteners of the Byzantine type and a candlestick from a church lamp - a horos. The most interesting are the unique finds from the jewelry workshop of the ancient Lubech of the 12th-13th centuries.: a small lead anvil and stone molds for making moon pendants, buttons and plate ornamented bracelets.
