In April 1919 year old 38 years ago, one of the founders of the museum business in Chernihiv region died, curator of the Museum, Yevhen Oleksandrovych Kornoukhov of the Archive and Library of the Chernihiv Provincial Archival Commission (1881-1919).
Evgeny Kornoukhov was born 1881 year in the family of priest Oleksandr Oleksandrovich Kornouhov.
His father Oleksandr Oleksandrovych graduated from the Chernihiv Theological Seminary in 1874 year. Already in 1876 was ordained to the post of rector of the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross in the village of Khreshchate, Kozeletsky district. Do 1907 year is mentioned as the archpriest of the village. Means and deacon 4 district of Kozeletsky District. There were at least two sons in the family: Evgeny and Andriy. Andriy graduated from the Chernihiv Theological School (1901 р.) and Chernihiv Theological Seminary (1907 р.), a student of the historical and philological faculty of Yuryiv University (1910 р.).
Yevhen Kornoukhov graduated from the Chernihiv Theological School at 1897 Dr.. and went to work in the spiritual department. До 1909 worked in the Chernihiv Spiritual Consistory.
On 1901 Yevhen Oleksandrovych is a valid member of the Chernihiv Provincial Archival Commission (further - CHAK). Participates in the collection of materials for the 12th Archaeological Congress in Kharkiv. At that time, the first of the known intelligence reports of E. Kornouhova's "About the village of Seredynke and the church there" is dedicated to the history of his native village.
Yevhen Kornoukhov supervised land works in the historical center of Chernihiv on behalf of the CHAK. Inspected the antiquities of the village. Starohorodky and. Sharp.
Do 1902-1903 рр. handed over two blankets to the CHAK Museum, a wooden candlestick and a photo of the icon of Archdeacon Stefan from the Trinity Church of. The center of Kozeletsky District.
He published a review of the work of archaeologist Dmytro Samokvasov and his obituary on the pages of the newspaper "Chernygovsoke Slovo" [1].
Took an active part in the preparation of the XIV Archaeological Congress in Chernihiv. Yogo gruntovna dovidkova work “Alphabetical list of churches of the Chernigov diocese”, published in "Proceedings" of CHAK [2] and is still a valuable resource for researchers. On the pages of "Trudov CHAK" another essay by Ye. Kornouhova is dedicated to an unusual scientific topic at the time - the informal relations of the Chernihiv clergy at the beginning of the 19th century. [3]
He was also the author of the essay "Fate of the Bobrovniks.", archers and birders of the Chernigov province" ("Proceedings of CHAC", випуск 10), report "On the income of the Kozeletsky magistrate in 1760 » (1913 р.).
On 1909 Dr.. - editor of the Chernihiv uncensored political newspaper, literary, humorous and satirical magazine "Volna". The post of Volna editor was the reason for E.'s hasty dismissal. Kornouhova from the Chernigov Spiritual Consistory: “our mother reverend consistory, with blessings from above, decided to ostracize slave Evgeniy Kornoukhov, at whom the spiritual hierarchs have long been looking askance.” [i]. He published three essays on the pages of Volna [4].
After leaving the consistory, he was elected to the position of curator of the museum, archive and library of the Chernihiv Provincial Scientific Archival Commission (1909 р.). He was a member of the subcommittee for compiling an index of literature on the history of Chernihiv Oblast (1910 р.).
Do 1910 Yevgeny Kornoukhov and member of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Valentyn Shugaevskiy managed to buy from the amateur archaeologist Kirill Stavrovsky the finds obtained by him as a result of unauthorized excavations of the Trypil settlement in Ur. Pickup near the village. Evminka (1908 р.) and the Vypovziv settlement. Subsequently, they were transferred to the CHAK museum .
After the death of Pyotr Dobrovolskyi, for a year he performed the duties of the manager of the CHAK's affairs.
Влітку 1912 Dr.. In. Shugaevskyi and E. Kornoukhov made a trip to the villages of Veresoch, Crawled, Gorytsia and the Domnytsky Monastery with an archaeological purpose (Yevhen Oleksandrovych informed the CHAK about the image of Hetman I. Mazepy on one of the bells of the Domnytsky Monastery).
In April 1914 Dr.. CHAK chose an archival bureau from among its members (famous researchers Vadym Modzalevskyi and Petro Doroshenko, Evgeny Kornoukhov) for studying and transporting valuable archives to Chernihiv.
Do 1915 Dr.. edited the Catalog of the Chernihiv United Historical Museum, disassembled the archive of the Chernihiv gubernatorial board, studied the manuscripts of St. Michael's Church in the village of. Lenkiv of Novogorod-Siversky district, participated in the preparation of the bibliographic index to "Chernihiv provincial gazettes".
During the Ukrainian Revolution, he was an employee of the Chernihiv Provincial Committee for the Protection of Monuments of Art and Antiquities. Participated in the survey of estates, churches, Private Collections. To the beginning 1919 Yevhen Oleksandrovych continued to work as a curator of the CHAK Museum. Died 4 April 1919 year (the obituary was published in the magazine "Nashe Mynule" 1919, № 1-2). Wife - Oleksandra Firsovna Kornouhova (1886 р.н., in 1917-1919 рр. was the head of the Chernihiv City Historical Museum, of 1921 Dr.. - Deputy Director of the II Soviet Museum).
When processing the binders of the newspaper "Chernihivskie eparchialnye izvestiya" for 1861 рік, it was found 2 impressions of a stamp with the inscription "EVGENIY ALEXANDROVYCH KORNOUKHOV", which are placed to the left of the oval stamp "LIBRARY Chernihivsk. lips. scientist archive. COMMISSIONS.". Probably, Kornoukhov ordered this stamp from 1909 Dr.. or a little later, assuming the position of custodian.
The local press mentions the house of E. Kornouhova on Troitska Street (now - Peremohy Avenue).
