Travel the worlds. Chernihiv travelers

30 April 2024 in Chernihiv Historical Museum named after VV. Tarnovsky's exhibition "Journeys to the Worlds" was opened. Chernihiv travelers: the famous Oleksandr Voloshchuk and the unknown Ihor Dereichuk". Unique artifacts from Europe are exhibited at the exhibition, Asian countries, America, of Africa, Oceania from the collections of Oleksandr Voloshchuk and Igor Dereichuk.

A well-known traveler from Chernihiv, journalist, письменник Олександр Волошук подорожує світом з 2002 year mostly by hitchhiking and on foot. Currently behind his shoulders 78 journey. He visited 60 countries of Europe, Asian countries, South America, visited 1200 bridge. During his travels, he was engaged in research work, the main topic is the life of Ukrainian communities abroad. His collections were formed during his travels: Numismatics, sock, geographical maps, cold weapons and headdresses of different countries of the world. Collection of phalerestics, which the traveler has been collecting since childhood, calculates 3 thousands of units. Part of these collections is presented at the exhibition.

Diplomacy, traveler Ihor Dereychuk visited 10 countries of Africa and Latin America. Diplomatic work in Panama was combined with regular weekend expeditions to Latin American countries. Traveling through jungles and islands in the Caribbean, he studied life, life and culture of Indians. During his travels, he deepened his knowledge of the history of pre-Columbian civilizations. He worked as a freelance curator of the historical and anthropological museums of the city of Panama. Two of his personal art exhibitions were presented there, dedicated to the topic of piracy in the Caribbean Sea. Collections of clothes were collected by the traveler, музичних інструментів, ritual objects, jewelry, dishes of Indians and Africans, which can be seen at the exhibition.

During the opening of the exhibition, Oleksandr Voloshuk spoke about his travels in the countries of South America. From the curator of the exhibition Zinaida Petkova, the guests heard interesting stories about Igor Dereichuk's travels. In the end, everyone enjoyed the libertango performed by ballet dancers of the Chernihiv Regional Academic Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater named after T.G.. Shevchenko Vitalina Brahyda and Dmytro Loychenko. The new museum exhibition excited everyone present.
