We say goodbye to 2022 and we go to 2023

It is coming to an end under rocket and artillery fire 2022 рік. The most difficult and most terrible year in the recent history of Ukraine. We had many plans, which were not destined to be realized. The main thing that survived - the collections of the Chernihiv Historical Museum named after Vasyl Tarnovsky survived. Buildings are less fortunate (photo 1–2). Us, due to the incredible efforts of our employees, managed to secure them (photo 3–4). The participation of each employee is important, although someone made more effort, someone less.

It would have been much more difficult to do without help, which the Museum received, starting from the beginning of March from Lesya Klymenko, Nadia and Volodymyr Holod, Vladyslav Hrynevych, Petra Honchar, Olga Narbut, Iryna Prokopenko, Olga Salo (Tustan), Yulia Sytneva, Evgeny Nogin, Tatyana Zots, Vyacheslav Chaus, Olga Kovalevska, Uncle Seryozha, Valentina Demyan, Maxima Levadi (special thanks for the weekly phone calls and concern for the preservation of the heritage), Annie Sherman, Lesya Hasidzhak and Natalia Dzyubenko, Svetlana Pozikhovska (incredibly tasty jam), Ihor Poshivaila, Natalia Rebrova (the water was the most delicious), Serhii Ivanenko and Vyacheslav Lobas, Alla Poruzhnaya, Olesya Volodymyrivna, Julia Prus, Department of Culture and Tourism of the Regional State Administration and many others (there is a phone number, there is a card number, from which the transfer was made). Many thanks to each and every one for this.

Our museum collection would be in danger even now if it were not for help, which the museum received from Yulia Litvynets, BF "Strategic Changes Foundation", Global Heritage Found, Heritage Rescue Headquarters, Heritage Rescue Center, Charitable Foundation «Save Art UA», Iryna Nikiforova, Iryna Gorban, Berlin Karlhorst Museum, International alliance for the protection of heritage in conflict areas (ALIPH), World Heritage Watch, Stefan Dompka, Olena Balun, JYSK MegaCenter, Chernigiv, Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Ukraine, Lithuanian National Art Museum and the Jonas Karolis Charitable Foundation, OBMIN platforms. We cannot even imagine the whole chain of assistance, meeting a car at the threshold of the museum, which brings her. Thank you very much for your support, which allowed us to save our heritage.

We are grateful to Volodymyr Polishchuk, who brought us help from Kulikivka, that was stored there for a certain time, and Yulia Pasternak for keeping it. Thanks to all the drivers, that brought the necessary materials and technical equipment to the museum.

A part of our gathering remained in Denmark after the exhibition "Rus - Vikings in the East"., where it will be stored until time, when it's safe for us. Thanks to Moesgaard Museum (Aarhus, Denmark) for shelter and care.

We are very grateful to our security for their reliability.

We are incredibly grateful to all defenders of Chernihiv and Ukraine, who did the impossible - kept our city, drove the Moscow horde from Chernihiv region, maintain a reliable defense in the East and liberate our land. The first addition to the museum collection came from them (фото 5). Our first exhibition was just for them (фото 6). ДЯКУЄМО!

We thank and are proud of our employees, including those, who left the museum for that, who stood up with weapons to defend Ukraine! Keep yourselves!

We saved the citizens of Chernihiv (фото 7) and lectured them (фото 8). We collected terrible and heroic testimonies of the defense of Chernigov (we thank Vadym Antoshin) and created and opened 4 exhibitions (photos 9–12).

We thank the journalists, who monitored our daily work and reported about it, especially in March, when it was the hardest.

We are very sad about our loss - Ludmila Maiboroda (фото 13) - head of the Military Historical Museum, which survived the siege of Chernigov, but she still left us.

We say goodbye to 2022 year and are ready to go to 2023 year - the year of the Victory of Ukraine and the collapse of the Moscow evil empire!
