UKRAINIANS, WHO CREATE THEIR STATE @ Chernihiv Historical Museum

28 March 2023 Chernihiv Historical Museum named after V. V. Tarnovsky invites you to the opening of the art exhibition "Ukrainians, who create their state".

The question haunted me for many years – how Ukrainians survived in the conditions of Moscow, російської, Soviet empires? As 350 years of destruction of the people, languages, культури, traditions, distortions of history did not kill us?

Where did the strength to survive those wars come from?, that fell on each generation of Ukrainians in the last three centuries? As after three famines, Solovkov, Siberia and the Gulags, we did not turn into "Russian Ivans" without memory and language?

The answer helped me to find a small village in the Chernihiv region with a loud name - Avdiivka!

Fertile Ukrainian land has preserved the spirit and ability to give birth to free people for centuries! There are thousands of such Avdiivoks in the state, and millions of people!

This is exactly what the artists tried to show, bringing the idea to life. The married couple of Kyiv artists Daria Dobryakova and Yuriy Kutilov were captured in portraits, still lifes and landscapes, the modern archetype of the Ukrainian village.
