29 March 2024 року у Чернігівському історичному музеї ім. VV. Museum meeting "Defense of Chernihiv. 21-and a separate rifle battalion", dedicated to the second difference between the liberation of the city and the region.
Fighters of the 21st separate rifle battalion visited her. In February - March 2022 year, the unit defended Chernihiv in positions in the villages - Novoselivka, A coin, Lukashivka, on the territory of the Chernihiv sports ski base.
With this meeting, the museum started a series of events, which will tell about the participation of individual units (Armed Forces of Ukraine, National Guard, border guards, teroboroni) in battles for the city, region.
Veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war - fighters of the battalion - spoke before those present at the event: Dr. Serhiy Lepyavko, Doctor of Historical Sciences ("Professor"), battalion company commander with the call sign "Afghan", Methodist teacher Valery Vovk ("Mihalic"). They talked about the formation of the battalion, its staffing, weapons, in the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion, battle in Kolychivka village, help of the villagers.
The soldiers of the battalion handed over a flag and a collection of poems by Valery Vovka to the museum.
